No need for translations this week dear readers. ( No Saturday translation post. ) I thought the page could speak for itself this time.
There are a lot of new developments percolating under the comicy surface my friends. I just finished writing a lengthy update on the Patreon post for today’s page. I would suggest checking it out for more details. https://www.patreon.com/posts/24778364
Hello all, the new background article for the Gomradi is up on the Patreon page. You can read it for free there. Also, I’ve finally unlocked the previous lore articles for public viewing. Check out the links below to go straight to those previous lore pieces.
There are a ton of old character designs still locked behind the paywall. Eventually, I’ll open those up to the general public too.
As stated above, this week’s comic update will be late. It should land on Thursday. Sorry for the delay. Let’s blame it on holiday activities disrupting the workflow. ( Not to mention a weird wordpress bug I ran into when updating recently. )
Sadly, I won’t be hitting #100 before the year is out. The change in comic formatting and numbering soaked up the additional updates. ( I will be seven comics short. ) However, I will stick it out by making sure there will be comic updates each remaining week of 2018. There might be a short break in January. I will keep yall posted on that.
Also, on the Patreon side of things, the new Gomradi lore piece is also delayed. Principle art is about done and should post this Saturday. The poll to pick the next topic will be posted shortly afterwards. If you are a patron you can vote on the next topic!
In the meantime, the process vid for the last Muradjinn pic is ready to view. Check it out below!
The above is a comic page I contributed to a local anthology in association with the Cattywampus/Death Ray Expo maker/creator faire. ( https://gocattywampus.com/ ) It was recently only available to event visitors, but should be up for purchase online shortly. It is full of comics and content from NWA local creators. I’ll make a specific post when they are available. All purchases will go toward supporting further anthologies.
The Patreon post for today’s update has some preliminary design work for Argann and his Ogroon. Check it out for free!
Speaking of the Patreon, there will be a new lore update up this weekend. We will be exploring the Gomradi. New art and insights! The post will be free to read. However, only patrons will get to vote for the next topic.
The first of a new series of background lore articles is up on the Patreon page. You don’t have to be a patron to read it, but patrons will be able to vote on what the next article will be about. Click on the pic below to go directly to the piece. Enjoy!
We have finally arrived at “that” portion of the story. For new readers this maybe confusing. The inhabitants of the Astray3 world speak their own, and varied, languages. This gibberish can be translated via simple symbol cipher as depicted in the above example. ( This would be Gomradese in the comic’s current form. Too bad the comic this post coincides with is Murbish. )
Now, we are all busy people who probably don’t have the time to decipher silly languages featured in an obscure internet comic. For this reason, there will be a few ways to read a translated version of the comic. However, since the comic is being presented in it’s “ideal” form in the comic area, these translations won’t be readily available. The quickest way to read it would be to join the Astray3 Patreon. A translated page will be presented with the initial post there. ( Along with some in depth notes about the page.) Consider it a perk for the folks who help pay the comic bills. After two days the comic post will be made public on Patreon. You can read it there without paying. Finally, for you who hate the Patreon thing altogether, I’ll post the translated pages for each week here in the blog section. These will go up on Saturday.
